The Orange Pumpkin apple is a prairie-bred variety known for producing larger-than-average fruit. Apples typically reach about 7-10 cm (3-4") in diameter, being one of the largest apples we grow. Their vibrant red skin is highlighted by a distinct orange blush, a feature that inspired the name Orange Pumpkin, as well as its overall pumpkin-like shape.
This apple offers a crunchy, juicy bite with a rich sweetness balanced by subtle tart notes and is excellent for both fresh eating and cooking. Thanks to its thin skin, there's no need to peel it when using it in recipes, making it especially convenient for baking and preserves. Orange Pumpkin ripens in early September and can be stored for up to two months in cold storage.
