COMBINGING ORDERS + Free Shipping on second order - How can I add to my order?

if you place more than one order in the same season and wish to have them shipped together please use the code COMBINE at checkout. This activates free shipping and flags the order to be combined with your first order.

It’s always best to email us as well so we don’t miss your request and can make sure everything is packed and shipped together as efficiently as possible. Thank you!

Our Preferred Payment Method: Pay by E-TRANSFER

e-Transfer is fast, easy, and hassle-free!

Simply complete your order online, and your trees are immediately reserved!

e-Transfer details will be in your Order Confirmation email. This option keeps more funds local and we truly appreciate that! 🌱

💡 TIP! To see the e-transfer option, use the regular checkout (not Shop Pay, Apple Pay, or Google Pay).

How does shipping and ordering work exactly?

Simply put: you determine your Hardiness Zone, soil quality and space. You select the cultivars (and select the proper pollinators if applicable) and add them to your cart. Upon payment you will receive a confirmation email - make sure you find this and that you are receiving our emails!

We will have 4 shipping dates to choose from, we send you an email by the middle of April to select your date: trees are shipped dormant and should be planted as soon as possible for your climate. Because each year is different, you choose the perfect date in April.

Your order gets expertly packed and shipped with a tracking number to your PO Box or doorstep!

We have a whole page dedicated to explaining the whole process: so you can feel confident when purchasing from Prairie Hardy Nursery!

Help, your trees are listed as sold out!

We are a mail-order nursery, we ship your trees, shrubs and vines in spring of each year to your doorstep. Ordering takes place each year between November 1st and May 1st

Some cultivars are sold out: as an artisanal nursery, we offer rare and unique trees, and some items are popular and have limited quantities. To ensure you get the tree you want, we strongly encourage you to order sooner rather than later to avoid disappointment, with orders starting on November 1st.

What is the benefit of Bare Root Trees?

Bare root trees are the superior choice for growing and transplanting.

Firstly, they are grown healthily with their roots free and not restricted or root-bound as they would be in pots. In living soil, the root mass can form symbiotic relationships with beneficial bacteria and fungi compared to potted trees that are typically grown in sterile environments subject to irrigation and fertilizers.

Lastly, due to the young nature of our trees there is a less likely chance of transplant shock, which more mature trees are prone to. We dedicated a whole page to our trees. 🌳

Do you offer Local Pick-Up?

YES! Dear local friends, we can accommodate a local pick-up please select this option while checking out!

Simply select the Local Pick Up option at checkout, and we will provide you with specific dates and times by early May for pick-up, along with the exact location. Please note, due to the busy nature of the season, we are unable to offer nursery tours at this time.

* Kindly note, we are located in Two Hills County, Alberta - not Three Hills - and are about a 5-hour drive from Calgary.

We dedicated a page to our ordering, shipping and pick up details. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions.

What is the Potted Tree Sale about?

Each year after we have shipped out all your orders Canada-wide, we pot up the bare root trees for local sale - we offer a pick up in Sherwood ParkCalgary and at the nursery near Two Hills, Alberta.

We offer competitive pricing on our quality stock between June - September. Trees are limited to stock available. First come first served. Email us to inquire about this sale. Read more on our Potted Tree Sale Page!

Shipping to BC

Due to strict CFIA regulations, we are prohibited from importing certain cultivars to BC (like apple trees). This may cause an error message at checkout. We still have loads of great items you can order. We can ship anywhere else in Canada!
