Warranty & Refunds


Prairie Hardy Nursery ships healthy plant material and all stock shipped is considered alive and true to its name. We carefully inspect each order for quality and pack each plant properly for safe shipping to your destination. 

We have a conditional warranty on our trees. 

When emailing us to make a claim a picture of the tree is required, thank you. 

If there is any concern with the condition of your shipment upon arrival (e.g., visible damage, breakage, or missing items), you must contact us immediately with photos.

Claims must be made no later than July 1st of the first growing season. Warranty exceptions include but are not limited to, weather extremes or improper care and maintenance. You must follow the proper planting techniques as outlined on our Planting and Care page. Trees, shrubs and vines must be planted following our instructions directly into an appropriate site, we cannot warrant items that were potted up. Any stock that fails to leaf out will be replaced or credit will be provided if they have been planted following our instructions and planted promptly within 3 days or less after receiving them with the proper care. Trees that leaf out and thrive, but somehow still die are not covered by our warranty. 

Please note that grapes take the longest to leaf out, please take good care and have patience, but please let us know if no growth happens.

No cash refunds, customer may have merchandise credit or plant replacement at our discretion. The customer is responsible for paying the freight cost on all replacements. We pride ourselves in excellent customer service, your satisfaction is important to us. 

Once an order has shipped or been picked up, it is considered final and is no longer eligible for cancellation or refund.

Prairie Hardy Nursery is not responsible for any package that is lost, stolen, or damaged after it has been confirmed as delivered by the shipping carrier. Please ensure you provide a secure and accurate delivery location.

If you require a signature upon delivery for added security, we are happy to include this. Just let us know when you place your order.

We email a tracking number for every order, and customers select their preferred shipping date at checkout or via email in April. Once your package ships, it is your responsibility to track it and pick it up from your local post office immediately. If your package is not picked up within 3 business days of receiving a pickup notice, this may void any warranty. Delayed pick-up can lead to heat damage or drying out of plant roots, and we cannot be held responsible for that. Please make arrangements to plant your trees as soon as possible, ideally within 3 days of arrival (with proper storage), following our planting guide carefully. Email us with any questions or concerns, we want your plants to thrive! 

If a package is returned to us because it was not picked up in time or due to an incorrect address entered at checkout, this will also void any refund or warranty claim. We are not responsible for incorrect or incomplete addresses. Should a package come back to us, we will assess the condition of the trees upon arrival, and any credit or replacement will be at our sole discretion.

The customer agrees to not propagate any cultivars under licence/royalty, this includes the Arctic series of Apricots, the Boreal series of Haskaps, and more.

Please note that a cancellation fee of 6% will be incurred for cancelled items/orders to recover the cost of credit card fees we pay on each transaction (when you pay and when we refund the cost). Cancellations after April 10th will incur an additional 10% restocking fee, as we start packing orders at this time. Thank you for your understanding.
